Northwest Center Kids is happy to announce that its second early learning and child care program has opened in downtown Seattle! Northwest Center Kids at Chinook is a full time program that serves children from 6 weeks of age through PreKindergarten. We are currently enrolling all ages. Please see our tuition rates for the 2011 year. Northwest Center Kids at Chinook is also actively recruiting families with income under 80% of median family income for Seattle. We believe play, independent thinking, problem solving and self-initiated learning experiences are keys to healthy development. Our program utilizes the Creative Curriculum to assist us in setting goals for each child and evaluating their progress.

Northwest Center’s Child Development Program is an inclusive model where children with and without developmental disabilities learn and play side by side. We believe that in this environment children are given opportunities to reach their highest potential while developing positive attitudes toward all people.

To make this model successful, our classrooms are staffed with highly trained teachers. In each room at least one teacher holds a college degree in Early Childhood Education. Our support staff includes program coordinators, program supervisors and our early intervention team. Teacher-to-child ratios are adjusted to the specific classroom enrollment and individual goals are established for every child. We work closely with Seattle Public Schools to support the Individual Education Program goals that have been laid out for children in our program.
