Derby Honoree Brian Evison of DAE Capital, second from left, with Patricia Mary, Sarah, and Matt Evison What an impact The Derby had on IMPACT™, a new initiative from Northwest Center Kids. The silent and live auction held in April at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, with a goal of raising $100,000 to launch the new service, instead raised more than three times that amount with donations totaling $306,000. With IMPACT (Inclusion Mentorship Program for increasing Access in Childcare Team), Northwest Center Kids will provide training and support to preschools throughout Puget Sound so that they are equipped to welcome children of all abilities. The Kids team estimates IMPACT will bring inclusive Early Learning to as many as 6,000 children in the region in just three years.
The Derby 2018 also marked the first Honoree. Northwest Center recognized Brian Evison, senior vice president at DAE Capital, for his philanthropic efforts and commitment to inclusion for people of all abilities. Guests at The Derby were in a bidding frenzy for auction items including a VIP Hamilton Experience on Broadway; Mariners vs. the Red Sox at Fenway Park that included two field passes to batting practice; and a Seahawks Experience with a party on “The Beast Bus.” Guests also donated to support items for our Northwest Center Kids and Employment Services teams ranging from accessible phones and tablets to physical supports and assessment kits.
