A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a giving account established at a public charity. The 501(c)(3) public charity serves as a “sponsoring organization,” which manages and administers individual DAF accounts.
DAF accounts allow donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction and then recommend grants from the fund over time. DAFs are the most popular tax-efficient way to make a charitable contribution.
You can work directly with your DAF advisor or by giving through DAF Direct. When you make a DAF gift, it’s possible that the sponsoring organization won’t share your information with us. So if you make a DAF gift, please email Chief Development Officer Peter Raffa at praffa@nwcenter.org so we can be sure to thank you – and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
