Why I Serve
I was introduced to Northwest Center in September 1980 by founding mother Katie Dolan.
I worked for The Troubleshooters (now Disability Rights Washington), which Katie started along with Janet Taggart, another founding parent of NWCR.
Our office was in one of NWCR’s buildings in Interbay, and we were deeply intertwined with all aspects of the organization—legally, morally, and emotionally invested.
I officially joined the Board 13–14 years ago. Through typical ups and downs, NWCR has maintained its presence and services for people with developmental disabilities in this state, and I am always immensely proud of the growth.
